Ikea has weird names for everything

Just when you thought Ikea had thought of everything we get this baby.

I was a bit down upon finding out that they'd done a way with their canopy beds, but when I saw this I was overjoyed. I know some will be all like, blah blah it's Ikea it's gonna break blah blah blah, but think of the people that buy end up buying TVs from lesser known brands anyway. People want televisions at affordable prices, and if I can have one that'll fit in a compact space, that's even better! I mean just look at it! My designer senses are tingling all over the place!

All Dried up

I love illustration. The look of a good defined style, and those lovely details that bring a smile to an otherwise gloomy day. It's probably the reason I vector illustrate and the reason I date another artist. (He's so much better than me, but never thinks his stuff is good.) Anyway, these adorable tea towels are just lovely. You're probably wondering where I find this stuff. Well if any of you are still out there. I search all sorts of places, looking through tons and tons of stuff before something catches my eye. This time it was the work of Claudia Pearson. Who knew that towels might be serious business?

Nervous System

No that's not a catchy line, that's the name of the company and what a cool one it is. Inspired by organisms in nature, the products are stylish, unique, and even a bit nerdy. Not only is the jewelry gorgeous, it's also pretty affordable as far as jewelry goes. The housewares are pretty pricey but the other items have a variety of options. Just take a look at some of these items.

Made in India

It's been a rough last week or so. Why? Because there was nothing that I found that was of mention. Oh I'm sure it was out there, I just had yet to stumble upon it. I must confess, these traditional wood block printed items at Dia Living made me stop dead in my tracks. It is a shame that they are so pricey. However alot of it is machine washable, and in the world of handmade goods, that is like hitting the jack pot.

Beautiful but Creepy

I know every single one of you has probably caught yourself saying, "My that is a pretty butterfly flitting by me." If not I'm thinking you don't get out much. How dead inside do you have to be, to not appreciate butterflies? So one day I'm browsing the web for neat things for this blog, and I come upon this...

At first I was taken a back by how pretty it was.

The wood work was stunning. Then I realized it...these are made from real butterflies. I mean I find dead bugs on display creepy enough, now they want you to wear them.

It's gorgeous...

But creepy...

Gilded Butterflies

You be the judge. Also these babies are ridiculously expensive.

Om nom nom

I know what you're thinking. This is a single item after several days. Well this is made of so much win that filling this post with anymore awesome might cause this blog to explode. Yeah it's exactly what it looks like.

It is both a giant shark plushie...

and a sleeping bag...

Just look at this damn thing! Stare long enough and some of the sheer awesomeness may just radiate through the computer screen and rub off on you.
